Steel club swipes… an excellent primer or if you go heavy a challenging workout for your grip and shoulders.
These are a small pair of 8kgs I use for a warm up. The exercise resembles a kettlebell swing + a standing pullover.
The kettlebell swing is a superior exercise for working the posterior chain (glutes/hamstrings), but swipes have the bonus of working the forearms, lats and shoulders.
Stand with your feet close together to allow the clubs to swing past your legs, hinge the hips once the clubs passes your body and try to keep your elbows close to your ears at the top.
Enjoy!
